Scoring Rules

Learn how your performance is evaluated in our league. Understanding the scoring system is crucial for tracking your progress and improving your game.
  • League will be 14 weeks based on the published schedule
  • Tournament formats will be either rebuys or freezeouts with varying buy-ins
  • Each league participant will pay $200 upfront to play in the league
  • The season winner is the winner after all regulation tournaments (14 weeks). The top 3 finishers in the standings will receive as a prize the following percentages of all $200 upfront buy-ins (50% of the pot to 1st; 30% to 2nd; 20% to 3rd)
  • The top 8 players as determined by points will be guaranteed spots in the Final 9 Invitational after the last week of the season for free, all with equal chip counts
  • Last Man In: The 2 points leader over the final 6 weeks of the season that are NOT already in the season’s top 8 will play heads up to get the last Final 9 slot
  • 10% of each entry through the league year will be set aside for the Final 9 Invitational to be held as a freeroll. The Final 9 Invitational will pay out top 3 spots (50% to 1st; 30% to 2nd; 20% to 3rd)
  • All is subject to change by the PLIA Committee
  • Each finisher receives points based on the number of individuals in the tournament minus their finishing spot +1 (1st place finisher in a 7 person tourney receives 7 points, etc.)           
  • 1st place receives 3 extra points, 2nd receives 2 extra points, 3 receives 1 extra point   
  • 2 lowest scores of the 14 weeks will be dropped
